Finding joy from personal projects

Getting in touch with my inner child means I get to explore with different brushes while exploring my work. I feel blessed that today’s digital tool has an abundance of brushes that brings that tactile touch. I am always active in still here still life illustrating challenges. They allowed me to express my inner voice with fun composition and quirkiness.

I’d like to walk you through how my style has evolved over the time

editorial illustration food

Believe me, this was my very first digital illustration using Procreate!! I recalled painting it with sheer passion and determination. Little did I know, this piece has brought everyone loads of joy, and a lot of career growth.

editorial illustration fruits and plants

Another piece that I adore alot. From here I explored more grain brushes and brush textures. Not forgetting that touch of smiley face!

jelly editorial illustration

It was a pleasure to illustrate shiny textures, especially jellies and gold!

food editorial illustration adobe fresco

The oil painting brush from adobe fresco wins!!

breakfast illustration

An ideal breakfast dream! Infused with more kawaii characters and some half tone texture

Its always good to fork out some time to work on personal projects you genuinely adore. From my experiences, clients usually prefer my personal projects compared to my commercial work. My next goal is to explore more fun ways to make merchandise and a zine! My goal this year is to venture into editorial illustration. I’m looking forward to it!

Cheers!
