My Japan trip photo travelogue

In February 2023, I have visited the Land of Rising Sun for a winter (nearly spring) holiday, it is one of the best places I have been to. In fact, going to Japan has been my childhood dreams. I grew up watching anime, collecting figurines, and cartoons, to be in Japan felt like a surreal dream to me. This trip, I’m only at Kansai area for a week which includes Osaka and Kyoto, I personally find that 1 week is Japan isn’t so sufficient, hence I’d love to visit Japan again.

If Japan has taught me one lesson, it was always be inspired with everything around me. What made it memorable was I get to see snow for the first time (Yes I’m born in a tropical country) and also very fortunate enough to witness some ume blossom.

Here’s are a few highlights on what I did in Kansai area for a week.

  1. I feasted my way out at Osaka (Japan’s kitchen) and spoilt myself with loads of fresh seafood. The desserts were so good especially their strawberry and matcha desserts!

  2. My shopaholic mode was not controlled when I was at LOFT, UMEDA. Japan is indeed a shopping heaven.

  3. I rented a kimono in Arashiyama, Kyoto and explored Kyoto. I went Gion for a matcha tasting session too.

  4. I felt safe to be in Japan because I had a solo day at Soloniwa Onsen. I also tried onsen for the first time, especially being naked in a public spa. It did feel abit weird but I was fine with it

  5. I went Universal Studio Japan to achieve my inner kids dream. Harry Potter World and Nintendo World were just eye-opening

  6. I went to Izakaya Toyo in Osaka, the Netflix show that features this chef who cooks his food with his bare arms!

I aspire to work hard and would love to go back to Japan again! Here are a few photos to enjoy. Also, I’m currently working on my Japan zine, I hope they can be ready by end of 2023.
